I'll do anything to thwart the artist's block disease. Even space art.
Naw, actually, it was fun.
The planet is one that travels in a wildly eliptical orbit. For around 215 years, the planet hangs far out in space, where the sun is barely a speck in the sky. But for 5 years, it travels close enough to the sun for all of the ice on its surface to melt and form a great ocean on its surface, with no land above the water. One day, however, the planet's rapidly decaying orbit will fling it into the sun, and the ice will be consumed by the flame...
Ah, well, I had to make up a story to go with it.
The sun and the planet were all drawn into place by yours truly
